RFI with Tianlai Dish Array:   Jixia and Fengquan gave a presentation on fixing a major source of RFI in the TDA -- the motor controller electronics.   The electronics are located in boxes positioned under each of the dish antennas (1 box per antenna).   They are using shielded boxes with filtered connectors (MDM 25?).   Boxes are well-grounded.  HI observations are normally made in drift-scan mode (at constant declination) with the motors turned off.  But targeted observations require the motors be operating  -- hence the effort to solve the problem.   Note, there is still RFI from the nearby cell phone tower.   The cell tower power has been reduced, at our request, but it's still an issue.

Alessandro Marins is looking for areas to get involved with Tianlai.   He will give a presentation at our next call (Nov 10) to summarize areas of interest.
