Originally scheduled for October 14 but postponed until October 28.

Next 21 cm Cosmology Workshop / Tianlai Collaboration meeting will be hosted by Le Zhang and others at Sun Yat-Sen University, in the vicinity of Guangzhou (near Hong Kong).  They plan to hold it in late fall or early winter to avoid the hot weather.   A possible date is the week of December 13 - 18  (Sunday - Friday).

Mutual coupling:  Peter showed attached slides, "Mutual Coupling III", proposing a possible way to extract the embedded element patterns (EEPs) of the antennas in an array by measuring the scattering parameters (S matrix) for the array.   The approach would exploit the relation between the "beam overlap function" and the S parameters of an array as a tool for making a constrained realization of the EEPs.   There was plenty of skepticism that this could work because the beam overlap function averages over the beams, smoothing over the detailed beam structure.

More effects of mutual coupling:   Xuelei reviewed a recent paper from his group:   Liu et al. "Beamforming in Interferometer Arrays with Cross-couplings" https://arxiv.org/abs/2510.10067     It seems that the effects of mutual coupling don't have a big impact on the beam shapes.

Next call to discuss the tNCCSz paper is Tues Nov 4.    Next regular call will be Tues Nov 11.   Note that the telecon time will shift by 30 minutes b/c of time changes in France and US.
