Two new Tianlai members are joining and are now on the Tianlai mailing list:   Filipe Abdalla and Allesandro Marins

21 cm Cosmology Workshop:

  • Xin Wang has invited quite a few speakers.  Some have accepted for in-person attendance and others for remote attendance.  He will share a spreadsheet with the status of the invitations.   Some speakers have not responded - other members of the SoC may be able to contact them.   Speaker names will appear on the conference website soon:   https://popy.qgmha.cn/tianlai/
  • For speakers who have requested assistance with travel funds, he has been able to offer that the conference will waive the registration fee and hotel costs.

Xuelei:  Institute of Automation is preparing electronics for FRB search electronics for 144 feeds on the main cylinders.

Reza:  suggests we return to regular presentations on this telecon about status of Tianlai hardware and data analysis.

  • Next call, Shifan will present on data processing.
  • Future calls to focus on status and plans for low-z observations with the TDA.
  • Some hardware work has been undertaken to solve self-generated RFI in TDA.

Universe paper:   Wenkai reports that data from "On the Fly" measurements of MeerKAT visibilities taken during MeerKLASS observations are available on the MeerKAT website.    These data are taken commensally with data taken in single-dish mode during wide-field scans at constant elevation.  The observing scheme is very different from MIGHTEE observations, which are deep interferometric measurements of small patches.  These patches are "tracked" over long periods -- sky rotation fills in baselines to improve the uv coverage.
