Summary (2-4 sentences)

Our team at US Geological Survey, in collaboration with AWS and NASA, worked out a cloud-based "cluster on demand" protocol for deploying HTCondor on AWS. We made the protocol open-source and I will illustrate an example of processing Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter imagery covering the entire planet of Mars. This project was designed to enhance public availability of high-resolution Mars imagery as part of the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) project.
