Xuelei reviewed recent upgrades to the Tianlai Dish and Cylinder arrays.   His slides are attached.  New telescopes are in place and backend hardware is being developed by Fengquan and Institute of Automation.  Some questions:

  • could save some computing by switch from 8 bit to 4 bit digitization.   Reza points out such a change will reduce the dynamic range, which could make RFI removal more difficult.

 

Yikai shared a paper he is writing with Shifan and others on analysis of cylinder data.  His slides/paper are attached.   He would like feedback ASAP so he can submit soon.

Guangzhi He is writing a paper with Yougang Wang and others on analysis of dish data.  He will present it at our next call, which will be next week (instead of 2 weeks) so we can give him rapid feedback.  Yougang send a link to the paper people can read it ahead of time.  It's also now posted on the March 3 Indico page.
