Summary (2-4 sentences)

Simulations and analyses of high-energy particles are critical to the progress of particle physics research, the success of which are affected by two requirements: (1) a vast number of heterogeneous computational resources (sites), and (2) distribution of necessary data and software stack to conduct the required simulations and analyses. The GlideinWMS framework is a pilot jobs system: it sends pilots jobs (Glideins) to reserve and setup machines for a virtual HTCondor pool. The CernVM File System (CVMFS) allows to meet the software needs for experiments and is generally available on most computing resources. When CVMFS is not available (for example, on some HPC resources), our solution will allow the mounting of CVMFS dynamically, without requiring system administrators to invest extra time. This dynamic provisioning therefore widens the utilization of the pool of resources for particle physics experiments, therefore enabling high-energy physics research.
